Global Manufacturers Adidas have launched their keenly anticipated Predator X football boot in a black/red/white colourway.
The boot is the 10th in the Predator series which has now been running for 17 years. Adidas have created what they describe as “the most powerful football boot in the world”.
Former french international Zinedine Zidane helped design the new range of products and said: “Having worn Predators throughout my career, I’ve always been amazed with the continued product development and what each new version of the boot bought to my game. With Predator X, I’ve been working with adidas to help lend my football experience to their product knowledge to truly deliver the next step in boot technology.”
The Predator X will be worn by a large amount of star players including David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Raul, Michael Ballack and Robin Van Persie.
The new Predator X takes power to a whole new level with the introduction of power through the powerspine which is inspired bythe revolutionary Fingersave technology. The powerspine minimizes the energy loss during a shot through a reduction of the kicking flex in the forefoot area. This results in a higher shooting power and also helps reduce the risk of injury by limiting pressure in the mid foot area.
The main aim of the new Predator is the improved swerve in the strike of the ball. The swerve element has been created of a rubber-silicon mix and placed in an optimized position. The soft compound provides ultimate swerve, control and accuracy through an increased contact time with the ball. The repositioning of the Predator element is based on pro player feedback.
The control of the boot is produced through Optifit technology which brings all the Upper materials as close to the top of the foot as possible to create a natural ball feeling. The football boot is constructed from Taurus leather which combines a weather and abrasion proof material.
The boots are available in a Soft Ground and Firm Ground option. The soft ground stud configuration has been changed to a traditional 6 stud set up which still provides maximum ground penetration but with an increased forefoot flexibility.
